Yoga Class Descriptions & Prices

Afternoon Flow Yoga: A class where you will flow from one asana to another, and link movements to the breath. Students will be encouraged to find their own connection to the postures and to the mind/body connection that is the essence of all yoga. The afternoon time slot makes it ideal for school teachers, or those with limited time! Each class will be new and interesting and dedicated to the individual abilities of all students.

Anusara-Inspired Hatha Yoga: Classes includes basic and refined alignment instructions to gain prowess in your poses and put a spring in your step. We will explore the yoking of the contrary complimentary actions that are inherent in yoga. By using muscle energy and optimal alignment to create boundaries on the mat, we can open our hearts and inspire our minds in our daily life. When we find joy and freedom in our poses, we can stand celebrated and delighted in our art form.

Beginner Yoga: Class for new students or those who need a refresher course in basic yoga postures, breathing techniques, and postural alignment principals. Attention to alignment assists students to experience ease in the poses as well as enhances the flow of the breath. No previous yoga experience is necessary!

Bhakti Flow: Bhakti is the yoga of devotion. This class incorporates pranayama, asana, music, and meditation as a practice to open the heart and enable students to be of better service to themselves and others when they step off of the mat. The class will be vigorous and challenging at times, but lighthearted and fun! Some yoga experience is recommended.

Breath in Motion Yoga: Breath in Motion is a well-rounded smooth flow with a sense of adventure. This yogasana practice navigates nourishing level 2 variations with the opportunity to explore energizing level 3 options. We gradually wind down into a palpable and satisfying stillness. This practice invites alignment, mindfulness and variations appropriate for beginners but some experience is encouraged.

Candlelight Vinyasa Flow: This happy hour class is available each Friday evening for you to wind down from work and move into your weekend with a little shining of the soul. A sweet, contemplative, inner journey through Yoga practice by candlelight.

Candlelight Chi Yoga:A gentle but powerful flowing practice, surrounded by glowing candlelight, designed to calm the mind, relieve stress/anxiety, and promote relaxation. This class blends the practices of hatha yoga with the principles of tai chi, coordinating slow, purposeful movements from the body's core with the breath to create a moving meditation. Appropriate for all levels.

Community Yoga: Join us for this open-level yoga class taught by a different Yogadurango instructor each week. This class is by donation only (no punch cards or credit cards). Suggested donation $8. A portion of the proceeds go to a different charity each month.

Feel Good Yoga: Feel Good Yoga is a celebration of life! Using breath and intentional movement, we will explore our relationships with our own bodies. Through flowing and slowing, we will deepen our levels of comfort within our asana practice. Focusing on rejuvenating and restorative postures and theories, we will move our bodies and spirits in ways that make us feel good. All levels welcome.

Fusion Express Yoga: This 'all levels' practice fuses together graceful vinyasa flow with a variety of Bikram yoga static poses. Taught in a 95 degree room, this class is designed to be challenging, energizing, meditative and fun! This 60 minute class is a perfect choice for an introduction to practicing in the heat.

Grace in Yoga: This enlivening class will explore meditation, pranayama, and mindful asana expressed through the vinyasa style (linking breath with movement). This practice offers a blend of asana for gathering strength, balance, connecting with your center and releasing tension all infused with the qualities of grace. Each class will offer a varied practice appropriate for the season and the natural rhythms of the day. A powerful asset to a busy day. All levels welcome. Some experience is preferred.

Hatha Yoga: This class breaks down instruction to encourage proper alignment and steadiness in asanas and uses the breath as the fundamental key to body/mind integration. A Hatha yoga class provides students with a well-rounded practice and instructs practitioners to modify, vary or progress in poses accordingly.

Hatha Flow: Hatha Flow integrates individual postures into flowing movements coordinated with the breath. This class is inspiring, strength building, meditative and soothing. In addition to flowing sequences, postures may also be held for several breaths to facilitate personal growth and transformation. While this is a level-2 class, all students are encouraged to move their own pace and modify as needed. Some yoga experience is recommended, as well as familiarity with basic yogic breathing techniques, such as Ujjayi pranayama.

Hot Vinyasa: A derivative of Ashtanga Yoga, this vigorous class is taught in a heated room of approximately 103 degrees and 30% humidity. Hot Vinyasa differs from a Bikram-style practice.  The objective is to flow from one pose to the next while working with the breath and the alignment principles of various asanas.  The body begins the detoxification process and muscles become more flexible.  Hot Vinyasa is recommended for experienced practitioners only.

Kundalini Yoga: A dynamic blend of postures, pranayam (breath), mantra (word), music and meditation, which teach you the art of relaxation, self-healing and elevation. No previous experience in yoga is required for you to achieve results with your very first class. Through the practice of Kundalini Yoga and meditation, your glandular and nervous systems are stimulated, and your capacity for creative potential is heightened. You gain inner vitality to compensate for the adverse effects of stress so you can excel in life.

Living Well Yoga for Cancer: A class specifically designed for people in treatment or post- treatment for cancer. Classes are appropriate for anyone living with cancer; whether you have just been diagnosed, are receiving treatments, or are in remission. The class includes gentle, therapeutic poses to allow individuals to explore their bodies, breathe into areas of tension, strengthen areas of weakness, promote healing and relaxation, balance energy, build bone density, and stimulate the lymphatic system. Learn about the power of guided imagery for deep restoration, and breathing techniques to induce relaxation and elevate the mood. The class will also offer tools to support a home practice and every day living. Offered by donation.

Lunar Yoga: Drawing largely from Anusara yoga teachings, Lunar Yoga provides a journey inward and to greater grounding. This class moves through Moon Salutations (a great compliment to Sun Salutations) to cultivating more stillness and quiet as poses are then held for a number of breaths--often finding restorative and supportive postures--leading finally to a place of mediation and/or breathing practices. A great way to wind down the day. And open to all levels of practicioner.

Morning Vinyasa: A gentle vinyasa flow class. You will leave the class feeling relaxed yet energized, and with a well-grounded center, clarity and stillness of mind. A great way to start the day! Appropriate for all levels.

Power Yoga: A powerful, vinyasa-style class. This class is energetic, challenging and fun. Some experience and familiarity with Sun Salutation sequencing is recommended.

Simply Yoga: The fundamental purpose of this class is to increase calmness, balance, confidence and ease. Katie wants to help her students understand that yoga is a fun, motivating practice to enhance a healthy lifestyle. Simply Yoga class is a balanced flow of sun and moon salutations, standing poses, seated poses, savasana, and closing meditation.

Slow Yoga: Slow yoga is a rejuvenating and restoring practice. Class begins with a gentle warm up of the joints and major muscle groups and ends with several restorative poses and a generous savasana. There is an emphasis on breath work combined with meditative, fluid movement. We will also practice transitioning slowly and gracefully from one pose into the next. The class also explores holding poses for longer durations to experience subtle shifts, movements and unfoldings. This class is beneficial for any level of practitioner.

Sunrise Flow Yoga: A gentle vinyasa flow class practiced in a heated (but not too hot!) room. You will leave the class feeling relaxed yet energized, and able to start the day with a well-grounded center, clarity and stillness of mind. A great way to start the day! Appropriate for all levels.

Wake Up Yoga: We will begin this class in relaxation with some restorative poses then gently build to a standing flow and finally greet the day by saluting the sun. This practice will leave you feeling awake and enlivened for your day.

Yin Yoga: Yin yoga, also called “Taoist yoga,” is a meditative stretching practice of holding floor poses for 3 to 5 minutes at a time. Yin Yoga targets the deep connective tissues of the body, especially around the hips, pelvis, and lower spine. It is the ideal compliment to more muscular “yang” forms of yoga, and other types of exercise such as biking, skiing and running. This meditative class is suitable for all levels and is a sweet break from your busy life.

Yin/Yang Yoga: This class combines the receptive, quieter practice of Yin Yoga with the more active, rhythmic movement of a Yang flow. Within this blend we will mobilize all areas of the body, from the deep connective tissue which stabalizes our joints to the more surface level muscles and facia. We will also learn to steady our minds through Pranayama (breathing) and mindfulness meditation.

Yoga Hour: A dynamic flow yoga class focusing on strength, balance and movement. Experience and allow your body to move with the breath. Some experience is recommended.

Yoga Basic Workshop: FREE workshop designed for beginners to teach the basics of yoga in a special, non-intimidating environment. We will learn the fundamentals of alignment and breathing, as well as the practice of basic stretches, balancing poses, strengthening exercises, and relaxation techniques. No previous yoga experience is necessary!

Yoga for Grief: This class provides techniques to promote the transformation of grief and loss into material for our nurturance. We’ll do this by using the breath and movement to address the delicate endocrine mechanisms in the body responsible for the grief reaction. We’ll also learn techniques to: unblock parts of the body while allowing feelings and emotions to find a way to surface and discharge; help promote a psychological sensation of greater control over life; allow a general feeling of “being alive” surface; and help regulate biorhythms, like the sleep/wake cycle. Because depression often accompanies grief, this class will also offer tools to help deal with depression. Just making the commitment to come to class shows an effort towards healing! The supportive energy of the group along with individualized attention allows your process to proceed in the most natural way for you. All levels of ability are welcome and encouraged to attend.
